Railway power supply

Substations, PSCADA and safety automation for metro, tram and mainline networks.

Core business 01

Traction power, from the incoming feeder to the operator screen

A rail network only moves if the power system behind it is predictable. We work on the electrical and control side of that system: the substations that step supply down to traction voltage, the protection that isolates a fault before it spreads, and the PSCADA the control room actually uses to run the line.

Our engineers typically join a project at the functional analysis stage and stay through to energisation. That continuity matters more than it sounds: the person defending the safety case at the end is the person who wrote the interlocking logic at the start, so questions get answered from memory rather than from archaeology.

We work as a subcontracted EIA package for main contractors, or in technical assistance alongside your own team. On metro and MRT projects we are used to the constraints that come with it — night possessions, staged handovers, and an operator who needs the mimic to make sense at three in the morning.

Typical deliverables: functional analysis, control and protection schematics, cable schedules, PLC and IED configuration, SCADA mimics and databases, alarm philosophy, SIL determination and safety case, FAT and SAT procedures, as-built documentation and operator training.

Scope of work

From study to energisation

Studies & design

Functional analysis, control architecture, power and control schematics, cable schedules, calculation notes.

PSCADA & supervision

Power SCADA development, network mimics, alarm management, historian and remote control.

Automation & protection

PLC programming, IED and protection relay configuration, transfer and load-shedding schemes.

Safety & assurance

Risk analysis, SIL safety case, verification plan and support through certification.

Testing & commissioning

Test sheets, factory acceptance, site acceptance, integration testing and supported energisation.

Support & operations

Operator training, as-built documentation, warranty-period support.
